Onyx Core 5mm Frontzip 2018 Wetsuit

The Ion Onyx Core Semidry wetsuit, featuring a chest zip and 5/4mm thickness, serves as a fantastic all-rounder for water sports such as kitesurfing, surfing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, and SUP (Stand Up Paddling). It offers excellent movement, particularly in the arms and legs where it is most essential. In addition to keeping you warm in chilly waters, it also protects against the windchill factor.

For added comfort, Ion incorporates its Hot Stuff lining on the wetsuit's chest interior.

The knees are afforded extra protection with Supra Tex nylon, a high-grade abrasion-resistant material, enhancing durability and protecting the wetsuit from wear. The suit's design increases comfort and flexibility by contouring the collar, wrists, knees, and elbows to align with the body's natural shapes. A key pocket is conveniently located inside the chest area.

According to Ion's general guidance (which may differ from person to person), this wetsuit suits temperatures ranging from 32° Fahrenheit to 48° Fahrenheit.

• Aqua-A

Aqua-A is a solvent-free water-based adhesive incorporated into all Ion wetsuits.

• Seam reinforcements

Melco tape is applied to critical stress areas within the wetsuit to boost durability. Ion advises: “If you've accidentally left the wetsuit in the boot of your car on a hot day, and they begin peeling off, don't worry! Applying gentle heat with an iron to the affected area will reactivate the glue.”

• Contour Cut

Wetsuits designed to fit body contours improve both flexibility and comfort. All Ion wetsuits are equipped with a contour cut.

• Drain Holes

Drain holes are added to prevent water build-up where fabrics overlap. These drain holes will not increase in size.

• Internal Key Pocket

A water-resistant internal pocket for keys is situated inside the wetsuit.

• GBS - Glued Blind Stitched

For optimal water resistance, neoprene panels are bonded using glue alongside blind stitching to secure the panels.

• Supra Tex

This material is used in more vulnerable areas of the wetsuit, such as the knees. Supra Tex provides greater resistance to abrasion.
