How to clean a skate and equipment for skate maintenance

When it comes to maintenance of your skates, you will actually only need a little amount of time and some equipment for skate maintenance. The first thing you will need to figure out is how to clean the skates. The best way to do this is actually just by using a wet cloth, some water and some soap.

This mixture can be used for the boot, frame and wheels. When it comes to the liner, you will have to do some research on the advised washing temperatures from the manufacturer. If you choose to use the washing machine, we got a great advice for you - Put the liners in a cloth, a net bag or just a pillow case before placing it in the washing machine.

If this temperature-guide is nowhere to be found, you should be homesafe by just washing the liner in your hand at low temperatures. When you are done and the liner has dried, we would recommend that you use one of our disinfecting sprays inside the liner, just to eliminate or minimise any smell that might have survived the washing.

When it comes to bearings, it might be necessary to take the wheels off the frame in order to clean the bearings on both sides. We have put together this guide of how to properly clean your bearings.

In this category with equipment for skate maintenance, we also have a piece of equipment that will make the process of cleaning your bearings a lot easier. We are of course talking about the Bones Bearing Cleaner.

In this category, you can find the tools and lubrication needed for the maintenance of your skates.
