Is Street Hockey Played With a Ball?

If you want to play street hockey, you can use either a puck or a street hockey ball. The goal can be improvised, but it’s rather hard to play without anything to hit with the hockey sticks.

There is a wide variety of hockey balls suitable for street hockey, but there are significant differences in the weight and hardness of the different balls. If you choose to play with a street hockey ball, you need to consider the weather conditions.

The temperature greatly influences how bouncy the ball will be and determines how much the ball will stick to the surface and your hockey stick. If you are playing in very cold weather, you should choose a soft ball, but if you mainly play in hot summer weather, you should opt for a very hard ball. In general, street hockey balls are the best option if you plan to play on rough concrete or asphalt.

On the other hand, pucks for street hockey are generally lighter versions of their ice hockey counterparts. They are made of lightweight plastic to help them slide over smooth concrete and indoor surfaces.
