Cruiser decks draw inspiration from the iconic skateboards of the 1970s, boasting stylish shapes and eye-catching graphics reminiscent of that era. What sets them apart from many contemporary skateboard decks is their directional design, featuring a flat nose and a tail kick, along with a more mellow or completely absent concave.
True to their name, cruiser decks are crafted for easygoing rides around town. While you can pull off some basic tricks, these decks aren't built for high-flying stunts.
Choosing the Right Deck Size for Cruising
The ideal size ultimately depends on personal preference. Cruiser deck sizes range from 25 to 34 inches in length and 7.5 to 10 inches in width. Shorter decks cater to younger or smaller riders, while mid-sized decks suit riders of all ages and skill levels.
Cruiser decks fulfill a similar purpose as some longboard decks, but the key advantage lies in their compact size—perfect for navigating busy urban areas. For an even more compact option, consider a mini cruiser deck, roughly the size of a Penny board.
