Onyx Element 5mm Chestzip 2019 Wetsuit

A wetsuit made entirely from neoprene with a snug fit. This model is the older sibling in the Onyx Element-series, featuring a thickness of 5mm and a chest zip with flip-over, which is the superior closure system to prevent water flushing through at the neck area. It is an excellent option for colder waters.

Features:

• Aqua-A

Aqua-A is an adhesive that is solvent-free and water-based, used in all Ion wetsuits.

• Seam reinforcements

To enhance the strength of stress points within the wetsuit, Ion has incorporated Melco tape for better durability. Ion advises: “If the suit is mistakenly left in the boot of your car on a hot day, the tape may begin to peel off. Do not worry! Gently use an iron over the affected area, as the adhesive is activated by heat.”

• Contour Cut

Wetsuits are designed to follow body contours, enhancing both flexibility and comfort. All Ion wetsuits include a contour cut.

• Drain Holes

To prevent the build-up of water where fabric overlaps, drain holes are provided. These holes will not widen.

• Supra Tex

This material is used in more vulnerable areas of the wetsuit, such as the knee regions. The Supra Tex fabric is more resistant to abrasion.

• GBS - Glued Blind Stitched

To securely bond neoprene panels and achieve excellent water resistance, gluing is used alongside blind stitch sewing to join the panels together.
