Onyx Core Shorty 2mm Chestzip 2018 Wetsuit

Onyx Core Shorty is a wetsuit with a thickness of 2mm, designed to fit tightly. It features long sleeves and a zip located across the chest. This chest zip effectively prevents water from entering the upper part of the suit, reducing the risk of water flushing through the neck region.

• Aqua-A

Aqua-A is a solvent-free, water-based adhesive utilised in all Ion wetsuits.

• Seam reinforcements

To reinforce stress points within the wetsuit, Ion has incorporated Melco tape for enhanced durability. Ion advises: “If the suit is accidentally left in the boot of your car on a hot day, the tape might begin to peel. Don't worry! Carefully apply an iron to the affected area, as the adhesive is activated by heat.”

• Contour Cut

These wetsuits are designed to follow body contours, boosting both flexibility and comfort. Every Ion wetsuit features this contour cut technology.

• Drain Holes

To prevent the build-up of water where fabrics overlap, drain holes are incorporated. These drain holes maintain their size and do not expand.

• Internal Key Pocket

Within the wetsuit, there is an internal key pocket that is water-resistant.

• GBS - Glued Blind Stitched

To effectively bond neoprene panels for outstanding water resistance, panels are glued and then joined using blind stitch sewing.

• Supra Tex

The wetsuit uses fabrics specifically for more exposed areas, like the knees. The Supra Tex material offers enhanced resistance to abrasion.
