• Aqua-A

Aqua-A is a solvent-free, water-based adhesive used in all Ion wetsuits.

• Seam reinforcements

To fortify stress points inside the wetsuit, Ion has incorporated Melco tape for enhanced durability. Ion advises: “If you’ve accidentally left the suit in your car boot on a hot day, the tape might begin to peel. Do not worry! Simply use an iron over the affected area as the glue reactivates with heat.”

• Contour Cut

Wetsuits designed to follow body contours improve flexibility and comfort. All Ion wetsuits feature the contour cut.

• Drain Holes

To prevent water accumulation where fabrics overlap, drain holes are included. The drain holes will not enlarge.

• Internal Key Pocket

Inside the wetsuit is a water-resistant internal pocket for keys.

• Supra Tex

Fabrics used in more exposed areas of the wetsuit, such as the knee regions. The Supra Tex fabric offers greater resistance to abrasion.

• Seal Tight

Enhanced with areas of Seal Tight seams. These slender rubber stripes at the legs, cuffs, and collar are less susceptible to tearing and improve sealing.

• Maki Tape

Within the wetsuit, the application of Maki Tape optimises flexibility and water resistance while reinforcing the seams.

• Ninja Knee

To further enhance freedom of movement, the Ninja Knee increases elasticity in the knee areas.

• GBS - Glued Blind Stitched

To effectively bond neoprene panels, achieving excellent water resistance, adhesive is used alongside blind stitch sewing to secure the panels together.
