I replaced the buckle on my PS Icon speed ice skates because I managed to detach the buckle in a short time. There is not the same problem with the new buckle which seems a lot more thought out. It's easier to fully buckle the ice skates with this buckle as it doesn't "jump out" when you try to over tighten it.
One minus is that it only fits the new PS Icon... ie the 2012 model (not the one you can buy at skatepro). It is the strap that is designed slightly differently than the old one. However, it can be fixed with a sharp knife without major problems. However, in my opinion, the overall solution is clearly better than the old buckle.
