The nose and tail are pretty much the same size and height, which threw me off at first, since I'm used to the tail being smaller and lower. I just went with the orientation shown in the diagram and got used to it after a few sessions, though.

The old deck I skateboarded with 10 years ago was 7.8" narrow, so this one fits better underfoot when older :) Of course a bit more difficult to flip because of the laws of physics, stiffness, etc., but it works well anyway.
