If you like the beautiful telemark way of skiing with your heels free the NTN Freedom telemark bindings from Rottefella could be your new bindings.
The width of the brake arms/stoppers are 110mm. It is possible to buy separately stoppers with the width of 95mm or 125mm.
These are lightweight telemark bindings from Rottefella with a precise progressive flex and a great transfer of power and is a good choice for more touring oriented skiers with focus on lightweight equipment. The two different heel lift positions (35mm and 65mm) makes uphill walking easier and the walking opening angle is 60 degrees.
The bindings are easy to operate both in terms of step-in & step-out and in order to switch between downhill skiing mode and uphill walking motion with easier flex.
These bindings are only compatible with NTN (New Telemark Norm) telemark boots from the brands Crispi, Scarpa, and Scott.
Flexibility (Power tubes with other flexibility can be bought separately):
- The small edition comes with a soft (green) power tube making a soft flex.
- The large edition comes with a medium (blue) power tube making a medium flex
Rottefella recommends green power tubes for small boots <26.5 mondopoint and blue power tubes for large boots >26.5 mondopoint.
- The Small fits boot sizes 22.0 - 26.0 mondopoint from the brands Scarpa and Crispi and boot sizes 22.0 - 25.5 mondopoint from the brands Garmont and Scott
- The Large fits boots size 26.0 mondopoint and up from the brands Garmont and Scott and boot sizes 26.5 mondopoint and up from the brands Scarpa and Crispi
Note: These bindings do not have a traditional and ISO certified heel and toe release functionality. But Rottefella has made a release functionality - We follow the recommendations of Rottefella when mounting and adjusting the release function of the bindings.
