BMX Handlebars Are Essential for Optimal Control
BMX handlebars are indispensable for properly handling your ride. Crafted from robust materials like 4130 Chromoly, aluminum, or high tensile steel, they offer durability and strength, often enhanced through heat treatment.
Categorized into two-piece and four-piece BMX handlebar, each type offers its unique benefits. Two-piece BMX bars feature two tubes, one forming the main bar, while the other stabilizes the "U" between the handles. In contrast, four-piece BMX bars consist of two main bars positioned opposite each other, connected by two crossbars. Your choice between the two depends on personal style rather than affecting your riding experience significantly.
Understanding BMX Handlebar Measurements
When selecting BMX handlebars, consider four crucial factors: rise, width, upsweep, and backsweep. Upsweep denotes the angle at which the handles point upward, while backsweep refers to the bars' bend from the center. These aspects primarily cater to personal preference, exerting minimal influence on your bike's performance. Rise measures the bar's height from its lowest to highest point, while width extends from end to end, typically ranging from 27 to 31 inches.
Choosing the Right Size BMX Handlebars
The height of your handlebars is a matter of personal comfort, though taller riders may lean towards taller bars for a more relaxed riding posture. Refer to our Handlebars Size chart for guidance on selecting the appropriate height.
Regarding width, aligning the bar's width with your shoulder width is recommended. Opting for a slightly wider bar enhances stability during rides, while some riders prefer narrower bars to ensure ample knee clearance.
