The Alienation Venus Planetary Freecoaster/Cassette is a hub utilising Planetary technology. It has a crisp sound and engages instantaneously, yet does not hinder the wheel when riding backwards. Truly, Planetary hubs integrate the most cherished characteristics of cassettes and freecoasters into one hub. With this hub, assembling a very robust wheel using 36 spokes is feasible. Hubs featuring male axles like this are secured to the dropouts with a nut.
- Ensure your pegs are compatible with the 14mm axle diameter of this Alienation hub.
- Hub guards are provided to support your grinds and enhance the durability of your hub.
The Alienation Venus Planetary hub functions like a freecoaster but feels and sounds akin to a cassette hub. It employs a Planetary Clutch system that significantly reduces slack. The hub axle is crafted from hollowed, heat-treated 4140 Chromoly, while the shell is made from 6061-T6 alloy. This results in a weight reduction of approximately 30% compared to traditional freecoaster hubs, without compromising strength or functionality.
