However, I do think they are somewhat tight for wide feet (I have quite narrow feet myself and they fit closely). They offer plenty of ankle support and protective, as well as the benefits of a softboot. I have yet to test them on the ice, but they feel comfortable and look solid. Due to the 3 different closure options (laces, climbing, buckle), it takes a while to close the shoe, but then it fits well. The upper buckle sometimes jams a little when closing, but is easier to close when standing than when sitting.
